UPDATE ‘One Bright Spark’ Project – Apply for funding now

Do you work with children in Bristol? Do you think we can improve how we safeguard the children we work with? The Bristol Safeguarding Children Board wants to hear from you about your idea to empower children and families receiving services.

We’re looking for ‘One Bright Spark’; a creative idea for a way to support children and families’ to share their views on the services they receive, and improve our ability to hear the Voice of the Child and effect real change. And we’re offering project grants of up to £5,000 to test your ideas out!

We specifically want to reach children and families who are accessing Child in Need and Child Protection Services; your idea might be with a specific cohort, or reach children across the city.

Maybe you think our multi-agency strategies could be redesigned, or you’ve got a great idea for a one off event to hear from a seldom heard group. One Bright Spark is your chance to bring innovation to safeguarding practice and make a real difference to the children in Bristol.

Complete and return the application form to bscb@bristol.gov.uk by 11th February 2019 with a breakdown of your idea. You can submit your ideas on your own or in groups. A shortlisted group will be invited to come and pitch their ideas with a multi-agency decision-making group including young people from the BSCB Safeguarding Shadow Board.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
